The secret to the explosive terminal performance of the V-Max is a hollow cavity resting between the tip’s shaft and the body of the bullet. Upon impact, the package drives the polymer tip into the cavity rapidly expanding to the point of violent fragmentation, even at low terminal velocities.
The 55 grain projectile performs well with barrels that have 1/7, 1/8, and 1/9 twist rates. While still being able to function in other twist rates performance can be impacted.
